You’ll find blueberry and huckleberry plants, and get a great view of the part from the impressive Spruce Knob Tower.
This tower was made from stone and steel and offers you a complete 360 degree view of the park. You’ll also appreciate:

Coopers Rock State Forest
Located on 12,747 acres, this gorgeous state forest overlooks a variety of canyons and the Cheat River. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, this state forest has 25 campground sites that all include electrical hookups. There’s also a central bathhouse and showers, as well as wireless internet. Pets are permitted if kept on a leash.
New River Gorge
Located on 70,000 pristine acres, this park features one of the oldest rivers on the North American continent. Rugged and flowing, you’ll enjoy activities like fishing and white water rafting when you aren’t relaxing at your campsite. Hunt for wildflowers, learn about the park’s relationship to African American history, or kick back and take in the beauty of nature.
